In 1978, Earth was attacked by a swarm of creatures from outer space. Using high-tech weapons, controlled by teenagers via arcade machines around the world, a top-secret international organization managed to fend off the attack without anyone realising that mankind had been on the brink of extinction.

Now, 34 years later, the aliens have returned in full force. Having learned from their previous mistakes, they have adopted a new, evolutionary strategy. Those individuals that manage to reproduce during battle are allowed to pass on their genes, resulting in a new generation of even fiercer warriors.
